My Husband Was Standing On A Plastic Milk Creat And

my husband was standing on a plastic milk creat and his foot went throught it and he fell about five days ago he has a black and purple bruse from his knee to the foot. now there is a red color on the bruse but not a red lind running up the leg .I made him stat off eleved it and put ice on it .is their something wrong with it turning red
