My Joints, Shoulders, Hips, Knees, Elbows, Ache Constantly. They Ache

my joints, shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, ache constantly. they ache like I have the flu but I am not sick or running a fever. It has been going on for more than 6 months. I've seen my doctor but all she does is tell me to loose weight. any suggestions? I can't get her to understand that this has to be more than my weight. I have gained weight because my joints hurts too bad to exercise.
