My Mother Is 73 And Diabetic She Has Been Falling

my mother is 73 and diabetic she has been falling asleep sitting in the chair and she will jerk her arms , legs, talk and she will even chew crackers part way then kinda wake a bit finish chwing and go right back to sleep untill a loud noise wakes her . Then she will startle and ask me a crazy question , like why did you tap me on the hand and point to the window ? or she woke and swore yesterday that the dogs foot was bleeding , look at all the blood . i checked the dog and she was fine. i dont know what could be going on.
