My One Year Old Started Having A Fever, Chills, Won't

my one year old started having a fever, chills, won't eat, passing gas, and he occasionally cries out in pain for about ten hours now. He woke up fine this morning and has not been exposed to anyone with an illness recently. He is not exposed to smoking. We have been alternating tylenol and motrin in an attempt to break his fever. Nothing has worked. Should I give it about a day to pass or should I take him to the doctor?
