My Pom Has Developed Some Dry Crusty Areas On The

my pom has developed some dry crusty areas on the sides of his mouth. At first it was small and i pinched it off. It came back bigger and on the other side of his mouth. They don't appear to hurt but, it continues to grow. i'm concerned about what it is and if it endangers his health
