My Son Had His Tonsils Out On The 27th And

my son had his tonsils out on the 27th and contracted croup now he is coughing none stop with a phlem and congestion.. does he have pneumonia or a respiratory infection? I don't want to take him out in the cold and he has seen his pediatrician twice now already in a 5 day span.
