My Stepfather Age 88, Has Been Taking Aricept 5 Mg

my stepfather age 88, has been taking Aricept 5 mg for 1 month without incident. his dosage was increased to 10 mg 3 days ago, and today he had a reaction, dizziness, weakness in legs, and says he is feeling strange. he also takes Neurontin 200 mg per day, no other medications. should I take him to the emergency room? he says he doesn't need to but I am worried. your advice?
