My Wife (56 Years Old) Contracted Bell's Palsy On Or

my wife (56 years old) contracted bell's palsy on or about march 10..she has been on 60mg prednisone (per day) since march 13..her dr told her to take it that way from the 13th thru the 16th and then reduce it to 50mg from the 17th thru the 19th and end it on the 19th.. we have 2 basic questions here...is that the proper treatment regimen for bell's palsy, and is it ok to stop the prednisone so abruptly, as opposed to a slower, more gradual reduction?
