My Wife Had A Paptest And It Came Back Positive

my wife had a paptest and it came back positive for Gonorrhea. I tested negative 3 days later. We have sex several times in a week, and during when her symptoms appeared. I know there can be false positive tests as I'm sure if she had it I would too. She still has some pain in her abdomen and her menstruation cycle is shortening or she is bleeding between periods, she is 42. Could this be another issue? The news devastated her, but If she had it I cant see how I don't with the amount of sex we had. I believe she had no other sexual intercourse nor have I other than each other.
