My Wife Is 18 Week Pregnant. She Has Dry Cough

my wife is 18 week pregnant. She has dry cough complaint and it ends up with vomiting. We see sometimes blood (Red color) while vomiting. Doctor prescribed Dextromethorphan syrup to control cough, as we see it is pregnancy categoty C drug. Shall we take such drug during pregnancy?
