Over The Last Year I Have Developed An Inch Long

over the last year I have developed an inch long painless oval lump under the skin. I went to the doctor when it was pea sized and again when it grew to an inch. both times he diagnosed a cyst by sight alone. recently it has grown in days to the size of a golfball, is extremely painful and infected. the doctor prescribed antibiotics. is this enough?
