patient (my dad) age 65 with history of type 2 diabetes m. has 5mm stone in ureter....was hydrated with NS and sent home with Flomax and pain meds....also cat scan showed stones lodged in both kidneys.. ...his blood glucose was 283 tonight ...my question is should I be concerned about diabetic ketoacidosis...? I am his daughter and a nurse and I did not get to see his labs, but the high glucose levels has me concerned ..... his glucose levels stay within normal ranges most of the time..
