Several Years Ago I Had A Basil Cell Cancer On

several years ago i had a basil cell cancer on my cheek its been removed several times always telling me they got it all. Now my dr has sent me to a nose surgeon and they are olanning a surgery . My question why hasn' t a scan or x-ray to show big it is instead of cutting . I don't feel good about this
