The Tip Of My Nose Has Been Red And Getting

the tip of my nose has been red and getting increasingly bulbous over the last 5-6 months. It is only occasionally painful. I do scratch at it causing bleeding. It doesn't itch, I just know it is there so I mess with it. My husband is nervous about skin cancer or something. I told him it's nothing. Who is right?
