Took A Home Pregnancy Test Came Back Positive Had Bleeding

took a home pregnancy test came back positive had bleeding 2 days later but would never soak onto a pad only when i went to the restroom. took another this morning and was negative. i was told over the phone that i had miscarried but never bleed enough for a normal period. is that possible?
