We Have A Small Office Condo And In The Kitchen

we have a small office condo and in the kitchen area - the microwave started smoking. We have tossed out the microwave - and opened windows and used fans - but the fumes are still pretty bad. Smell of burnt plastic. Is it safe to breath/work in the office when you can still smell the fumes?
