Why On Container Of Turmeric & Black Pepper Capsules Does

why on container of turmeric & black pepper capsules does it state to take an hour before food when turmeric is added to curries which is obviously a food. I am 65 yrs old and only recently discovered turmeric which apparently has many benefits. as for me among other things I have arthritis. I tried the powder but could not cope with the taste.
