Will Omnicef Treat Pink Eye? My Son Saw His Pediatrician

will omnicef treat pink eye? my son saw his pediatrician today, who didn't really say if he had pink eye or not. no redness of the conjunctiva, increased tearing, thick light green discharge bilaterally with occasional matting. no fevers. he does have a bilateral ear infection, which he showed no symptoms of, and prescribed the omnicef. just curious if this will help treat his eye as well. thank you!
