Yes, For Awhile Now My Period Has Not Been Close

yes, for awhile now my period has not been close to normal since i was in my 20s.. it last for years bleeding or a year or 2 not bleeding... All my pap test are normal, my thyroid hormones levels are normal when i had them checked last year and the year before that...but my thyroid as the dr. put it a little puffy but nothing to worry about and the test did come back normal..I try and do yearly check ups but sometimes I miss doing them...he did say that i was anemic but i assumed it is caused by the constant bleeding. Can you tell me what to check for next? well I need answers but i have spent all my money trying to find out thanks anyway....
