Yes My Big Toe Hurts After Wearing Tennis Shoes For

yes my big toe hurts after wearing tennis shoes for my zumba class yesterday and today.(usually wearing sandals during the day) it is red around the sides of the nail and above it. I had a pedicure last week and recall when gal was cutting the nail that it hurt when she did it. If it's the start of an infection what should I being doing to prevent further problems or it worsening?
