Question : 2 days ago I had a rash appear on my neck. it doesn't hurt, slightly itchy, there is no puss or discharge. I don't have any other issues, no fever or painful joints. it was a hot day and I was wearing a costume jewelry necklace (cheap metal) I was also under a lot of stress on this particular day. I was wondering if I should go see a doctor or let it regress on its own.

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
It looks like contact dermatitis, an allergic reaction.
Apply a mild steroid lotion. You can use cortisone or desonide lotion twice daily for a week and take an antihistamine tablet. Tablet levocetrizine should be helpful.
Let me know if you have any doubts.
Thank you.

I'm currently using a benadryl lotion/cream and taking 2 benadryl a day. would this work or should I get something like cortisone cream from the drug store? also thank you so much, I figured it was an allergic reaction but I get paranoid .
