Question : 32 y/o Female with History of acute uveitis. On Pred forte eye drop [Prednisolone]. HLA B 27 : WNL. ANA: WNL. X-rays chest and hip: WNL.
Request to opine about the prognosis from insurance point of view, long term ongoing steroids and ocular hypertension with acute uveitis.

My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
Apart from uveitis and it's sequels ,which are to be managed from time to time,long term exposure to steroids has it's own complications.
We have to be aware of complicated cataract due to uveitis,cataract due to exposure to steroids and steroid induced glaucoma.
In view of gravity of these situations, prednisolone eye drops are tapered,given only when strongly indicated or given in diluted form.
