Abdominal Pain, normal Menstrual Cycle, normal Bowel Movement

Posted on Sun, 27 May 2012
Question: hello, I have very mild intermittent twinges/ light aching just to the left of my belly button. I wouldn't describe them as painful at all, just (barely) noticeable. I feel fine, no other problems. menstrual cycle, bowel movements etc are fine. I've had them for a month or so, coinciding with a extremely stressful time and I probably haven't been eating verr well of drinking much water. They are not getting worse. Just wondering what it could be?

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for the query.

Your symptoms are not suggestive of any major pathology. Such mild discomfort can occur due to muscle strain. Some times, if there is mild gastrointestinal infection, even then such symptoms can occur.

Since, you do not have symptomatology associated with bowel movement, menstrual cycle and your symptoms are not increasing, please be reassured.

If you wish an Ultrasound scan can be advisable. Again, this might not pick up any thing as you do not have any major abdominal symptoms.

Be reassured as of now.
Hope this answers your query

I will be available for follow up.

Thanks and Regards
