Well, acute pain in gum on lying down or resting commonly occurs when there is infection leading to pus accumulation.

Can you please tell if there is decay in the tooth that is associated with the gum?

Is there swelling in the gum or cheek?

Is the area sensitive to hot and cold?

Do you see any push discharge?
