Question : My wife had gone through acute pancreatitis due to gallstones and got admitted for 3 days to clear pancreas infection as amylase serum was too high..Now same has cleared but doctor is telling laproscopic surgery need to be done to remove gall blader as mulitple stones are there.
In LFT alkaline phosphate value is 148 and doctor is telling surgery can only be done if value of same would be less than 98(within limits) but value of alkaline phosphate is not coming within limits since last 3 weeks , 3 weeks before value was 165 and till today its 148 only.
Doctor advised to have Udiliv 300 at time of discharge and same is continued.

Answer given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for uploading the reports.
MRCP not showing any stone or obstruction in the common bile duct.
You need not wait for alkaline phosphatase to come to baseline.
The value of 148 is not significantly high.
Your wife can go ahead with surgery on a planned date. It is not an emergency.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

                                    Hi Sir..
Thanks for your valuable suggestion.
Yesterday i had consulated with Dr.Pooran XXXXXXX MD,DM Gastro.of Fortis XXXXXXX and he suggested to go for Endoscopic Ultrsound(EUS) as Alkaline Phosphate is almost on same level and not reducing significantly since last 3 weeks so suspecting for still having some bile duct blockage.
So kindly suggest whether we may go for EUS and same test may cause any complication.
