Brief Answer:
Avoid extracts

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

I have reviewed your medical history. I usually avoid extracts and Omega 3, 6, 9 in vitamins as these can have side effects.
Secondly multivitamin must be taken only if there is documented deficiency especially of vitamin A, D, E, K. Vitamins A, D, E, K can accumulate in body if taken excessively. Blood Calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, iron levels can be checked before starting vitamins. If there is deficiency, then specific supplement can be taken accordingly.

If you still wish to continue with vitamin supplementation, you can start with Tablet A to Z one tablet daily for 1 month. Then continue with Capsule Becosule 1 daily. Capsule becosule will not accumulate in body and can be continued as long as you want.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dear Doctor,
Thank for your prompt advise. Infact we both do not have any deficiencies. But people say when we are growing older, the food will not provide sufficient energy hence one should take some multivitamin or other .Hence i have asked. Apart from this, since i am taking glycomet for over six years, there is reduction in my body fat and became lean. I am told that glycomet cause weight loss and make people lean. Do i shift to some other diabetic medicine instead of taking a multivitamin tablet. Kindly suggest. By the way whats your opinion about Tab TAGON M (Tenelgliptin and Metformin) ? KIndly advise, because my phycisian prescribed this for me.

Brief Answer:
I think you are doing fine on current medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Thanks for reverting back with more information.

How much is your current body weight? If your BMI is in normal range of 18 to 25 and your HbA1C level is also normal, then no need of a change of medicine.
Ensure Diabetes Care or Glucerna shake can be taken once in a while to get the required energy.
In case of no deficiencies, supplements are also not needed. Or Becosule can be taken.

You are in good shape

Detailed Answer:
In my opinion you are doing fine and you are in good shape.

Simply take your precautions and continue with metformin for now. Keep a regular track of your weight and fasting blood glucose at home only.
