Am I At Risk For Any STD After Contact With Vaginal Fluids?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Mar 2024
Question: I recently went to a strip club. Things got heated and I ended up fingering the stripper. I noticed shortly after that my fingers smell bad ( fishy) due to her vaginal fluids. I promptly used my hand sanitizer and when I went home I used my antibacterial soap. My fear is for STD exposure. Am I at risk for any STDs? There were no open wounds on my end.

Brief Answer:
There is no risk of STD.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thank you for writing to us.

Based on your history, just fingering her vagina without any open wounds in your hand, I think you shouldn't worry because there is no risk of STD.

Furthermore, you should know that common STDs such as gonorrhea and chlamydia are not transferred this way because the bacteria are very fragile and die quickly on exposure to the environment.

But, STD such as herpes, syphilis, and HPV (genital warts) could, in theory, be transferred in this way to cause an infection of the hand but the fact is it is not seen and is not a realistic concern.

I hope my answer helps you. Feel free to ask further.
Regards.
