Question : An mri showed an increased intensity lesion on the pons area of my brain. I have had some leg weakness. They said it is not characteristic of MS. I am having symptoms of ms. What ar ed your thoughts on this?

The diagnosis of the MS is achieved after a careful clinical evaluation, MRI findings, and cerebrospinal fluid examination, so, only MRI is not sufficient to confirm or exclude it.

I think that if a neurological assessment according to MS clinical criteria raises the doubts of MS, cerebrospinal fluid examination in this direction should be the next step.

Only after these complete evaluations, we can achieve a correct diagnosis.
