Question : Approximately 1 1/2 - 2 months ago, I got laryngitis, then came throat irritation that I thought was due to the phlegm in my throat that developed after the laryntitis. Then I got one of the flu bugs because I was aching and very cold along with the other symptoms. This lasted 1-2 weeks, then I was better, except there has been a slight phlegm in my throat that has remained. Now, I have got the laryngitis back again and am coughing from my throat, but feels like it is going towards my chest. Any suggestions?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. It seems that you are having allergic rhinitis and laryngitis. This may be due to allergic reaction of the nose mucosa or laryngeal mucosa. It may also due to acid reflux. You need to consult an Ent surgeon. If needed you should undergo endoscopy of nose and larynx and x ray paranasal sinus. You can start fluticasone nasal spray, steam inhalation to decrease the effects of allergy. You also need to take omeprazole tablet to decrease acid reflux. Drink more water. Avoid spicy food. You can start betadine gargle which will maintain the oral hygiene better.
