Question: Hi, im looking for an non SSRI to boost seratonin for depression and anxiety relief. So far ive found: VitB, 5HTP, Tryptophan or another serotonin-boosting supplements, MELATONIN, st XXXXXXX wort. Can you give me an idea of the benefits and risks? Any other suggestions?

Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but I would recommend that you eat foods that contains serotonin such as tomatoes, nuts, pineapples. kiwi and banana's.
Also separating carbohydrates from proteins in every meal ( either eat protein or Carbohydates per meal ) can increase serotonin levels ..
5-HTP is not recommend as it have serious side effects as myalgia , naseau ,vomiting , loss of sexual desire .. Tryptophan supplements instead are more effective with minimal side effects ..
Another option is s-adenosyethionie which Increases serotonin production but can cause the side effects of dry mouth, headaches , stomach upset and insomnia
while St. XXXXXXX wort is another booster that is herbal in nature but can cause side effects of dizziness ,constipation and photophobia
So,the best choice will be tryphtophan..i hope you find this helpful
