Are MRI Reports Accurate?
Question: when an mri says abnormal enhancement in the anterior and posterior aspect of the T3 vertebral body. It's appearance suggests a metastratic lesion, and the other mti says gives the appearance of a metastatic lesion, how accurate are they usually. I am having a ct scan biopsy done, but wondered how close the mti teadfings come to accurate

MRI are actually accurate at evaluating lesions in the bone including the spinal column. It is used to check for metastasis, determine the level of involvement and can also determine if the spinal cord itself is involved or compressed.
The MRI can only suggest based on imaging that the area it has shown is related to metastasis. Other tests such as the biopsy would be able to confirm or deny this.
The accuracy of detecting these lesions is over 90% in most medical studies.
With early detection , treatment is possible. It consists mainly of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and in some cases surgery.
There are a number of different chemotherapeutic drugs that your doctor may suggest if it is confirmed.
The prognosis varies with the exact diagnosis and response to treatment.
Summary: unfortunately they are normally accurate but not 100%
