Are STD Tests Required After A Polyp-removal Procedure?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Nov 2017
Question: I was in the ER over the weekend for post menopausal bleeding. I am a married for 47 years, age 65 female. I saw an OB GYN yesterday and he removed a polyp which he has sent off for testing. I'm asking WHY would they test me for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea if I have already told them I haven't had sexual relations in over 13 years, as this is very upsetting to me. I was diagnosed with a minor UTI and bacteria in my vaginal area.
