Brief Answer:
type of drug and uses

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Trazadone can be used for depression, insomnia, alcohol or cocaine withdrawal, aggressive behavior and migraine prevention.
It is also used sometimes for chronic pain.

Citalopram is used for depression, anxiety , alcoholism, ocd.
It is not used to help with insomnia unless this is occurring as a result of one of the illnesses mentioned.
Though some medications similar to citalopram can help with chronic pain, citalopram does not stand out as being one of the better ones, it has a modest effect.

Citalopram is a member of the family of drugs called SSRI . This stands for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. This means that they stop/reduce the pick up/removal of serotonin from the body causing increased levels in certain areas.

Trazadone is not related to citalopram. It also acts by inhibiting serotonin uptake in a different way and also has other actions.

They can both be used to treat depression though there are also other uses.

Main differences: (1) type of drug
(2) uses, trazodone may be more useful for insomnia and pain

You may want to discuss the reason for the change with your doctor.

It is also very very important to note that both trazodone and citalopram interact with your cyclobenzaprine and can, in some persons, cause very high levels of serotonin.
Very high serotonin can lead to a problem in some persons.

This should also be discussed

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
