Question : Hello Dr.

I had taken the medication that you prescribed and the fissures had gone away after the antibiotic ended. But there is white layer formation and the fissures came back
On application of neospirin also there was a layer forming on the glans

As suggested I have scheduled blood sugar test tomorrow morning to rule out diabetes.
I had done the test some time back this year and it was normal. Will share the test results later today evenning.

Hello,

The white thick deposit that is getting collected on glans penis is a dried thick mucus being secreted by glans penis and is called as Smegma. It is a normal secretion but exceeds when ever there is infection or inflammation of glans and foreskin. It is paramount important to maintain a proper personal hygiene by cleaning glans penis and foreskin with warm water twice daily and wipe out and clean it up properly.

Continue taking antibiotics for few more days.

You can take Bactrim D.S twice daily for 10 days. However, give prime importance to personal genital hygiene as explained earlier.
