Are Boils On Upper Back And Shoulder Suggestive Of HIV?

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Nov 2015
Question: Hi Doc, coming back once again. Have completed Doxycycline course and my boils on upper back and shoulder have reduced significantly. I still get one or two boils with pus head and bit pain when touched.

Hence my physician here suggested to see a dermatologist... and referred me to another clinic. In another clinic I was again made to be see another physician, who heard me out and was asking if have done HIV test as in some cases HIV shows as acne though I was not showing any other symptoms of having a HIV infection.

This scared bit from me.... do you also feel that I need to undergo HIV test or can ignore the same, pl advice giving due consideration to my history.

Brief Answer:
Test recommended for psychological advantage only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome back.

Nice to hear about your improvement. Look do not worry every doctor questions the patients regarding HIV and may make interpretation that does not mean you have it. I would suggest you to get a 4 th generation ELISA test 12 weeks post exposure for your psychological advantage. Do not think of HIV infection as of now. Yes you may take a test and clear the doubts.

Thanks for your quick response Doctor.

This new doctor really scared hell out of me... stating that HIV sometimes shows symptoms as rashes on body only... hence it is good to get it checked.

Though she also stated that don't worry you are not showing any other symptoms hence the test should be negative.

This has scared hell out of me and am principally averse to this test as a positive result can just break me down.

Doc, thanks for assurance.

If you remember a month back I shared photographs of red spots on my penis head, that time they were causing itch. I put sebrasten and maintained hygiene and they went away.

Though what I'm seeing is when I have extra sexual activity even if it is by self, these red spots appear back, as they have come now. I hav'nt had physical contact with anyone since middle of July. These spots are not itchy, just the colour difference is making me worried again, see attached pictures and advice. Have put more pictures as I did not see good resolution in some of them, pl pardon if I have sent more pictures the desired.

Lastly when am excited, I find that now the foreskin does'nt roll back naturally and penis top seems more swollen in this car then what it was in earlier instances say in 2014. Any advice for this, pl share.

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I think you have developed some allergic reactions. I would suggest you to change your soap and body wash. After shower dry the area and do not apply anything. Try this for 2 weeks.
