Question : I have a cough and whitish phlegm , and my throat sort of iburns when I cough and the cough sounds raspy and wet. I am female, age 68 and in great health and not overweight and never smoked. Last time I had the flu was 2008, last cold was 2013; but it did become bronchitis, which I have had before. Could this be bronchitis? I was thinking of going to a nearby Urgent Care Clinic...........
Brief Answer:
Do the following
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As you explained the history, if you were my patient, I would recommend you to do a chest X-ray and some blood tests for detecting bronchitis such as:
* Hemogram
* CRP
* ESR
If they come positive then your doctor probably should start the treatment with antibiotics like Amoxicillin for one week orally.
You can share the results and I can help you again.
