Are Chest Discomfort, Dizzy Spells And Swelling In My Feet, Ankles And Hands Curable?

Posted on Fri, 8 Jan 2021
Question: I have swelling in my feet, ankles and hands. I am a type two diabetic. I have chest discomfort and my heart races sometimes and I break out in a cold sweat. I get dizzy spells. Chest hurts when I do any exercise, even walking. Do I need to see family doc, urgent care, or hospital? I am a 59 yo female. I smoke half a pack of cigarettes a day and am overweight. Have gained 9 lbs this week but I think a good bit is from swelling. Today my weight is 190 lbs, I am 5'5"

Brief Answer:
Diabetes complication are suggestive;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through yor concern.
The symptoms you reported need emergent evaluation (chest pain and dizzy spelling may suggest serious pathologies).
General swelling may be due to renal impairment due to diabetic nefropathy.
Meanwhile chest pain may be due to coronary arthery disease and need prompt evaluation.
A detailed clinical examination, blood test, ECG need to be done as soon as possible.
So, i would not suggest to wait any more.
Wish you good health.
