Question : I put on Crestor a week ago. I immediately developed confusion, dark urine and persistent upper left sided abdominal pain. I stopped the Crestor 3 days ago. How long will I have this abdominal pain. Especially hurts when I take a deep breath.
Brief Answer:
Need to do ultrasound abdomen
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Crestor does not generally cause such symptoms in a normal individual. It is metabolised in liver and if it is continued to be taken in already diseased liver, it can cause further derangement of liver function & abdominal pain and confusion.
It is eliminated from the body in 2-3 days and the symptoms if would have been because of Crestor would have resolved.
I'll advice you to do a Liver Function Test & a ultrasound abdomen to see for any liver dysfunction if present.
Thanks & take care
