Question: Sir....i hav only one possible exposure to hiv which was about two and0a half years ago since than till now am in full of fear...i do have regular physical problems like dry mouth, cold, body aches, rashes..from the time of exposure to till few months back i have tested for hiv from various places like naco, hospitals ,diagnostic center. Test were for hiv1 and 2 elisa test. In total i did 8 test in this period and all the result were non reactive but   am not able to believe the result as i think testting centres are giving out negative result so that they dont get in trouble. Do you think is their anything that i can i do to get myself from the fear of hiv or conform whether i have hiv so that i can take action for treatment accordingly.

Brief Answer:
The best method to confirm your status is testing only.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ashokraman,

Welcome to HCM.

You had one possible exposure before two and half years ago and after that 8 tests for HIV came back negative then you need not to worry or feared because you are absolutely risk free from HIV.

What you are thinking is not right that testing labs are giving negative result because they don't want to get in trouble. It is their duty to give actual result and testing is the only way to confirm your status.

The symptoms what you have are mostly seasonal and these are common with any individual so don't worry for that. You can go for testing at private lab for your satisfaction but the possibility of getting the positive result is nil. If still any doubt left in your mind get back to again any time.

Thank You
