Are Food Aversions, Bloating, Nausea And Fatigue Sure Signs Of Pregnancy?

default

Question: I have pcos with menorrhagia irregular bleeding. The only "treatment" I have is exercise....that's helped made the bleeding less heavy but still irregular. Now I feel like I'm having some pregnancy symptoms...about 6 weeks after having unprotected sex I had started having food aversions, bloating, nausea, fatigue, but I only have them when I notice them....but I still bleed! But lately I've been bleeding less...sometimes bright red. And I'm still passing big clots but less..the last one lasted 3 weeks. I usually bleed 4 weeks to two months straight with huge clots.

I have taken 3 pregnancy tests...one was in the afternoon...and the other two in the morning. All negative. However I'm not convinced. Because I have read articles by women with pcos who had false negatives. However their symptoms were different...including with no heavy or existent bleeding. The underlying cause of why the tests were negative was not clarified...which apparently isn't caused by pcos.

I have a great fear of pregnancy and I'm wondering if these symptoms are showing up only because it's all in my head? Is this what they call a "false pregnancy"?

Or could there be something seriously wrong?

Brief Answer:
You are not pregnant!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I understand you may have several symptoms that point towards pregnancy. I will like to let you know that these symptoms can be caused by many other conditions and not just pregnancy. They are not diagnostic of pregnancy and all that they really do is to prompt testing for possible pregnancy. The repeated testing has shown that you are not pregnant.

Besides, an early pregnancy would not be able to stay back with the heavy bleeding that you have reported. All these put together strongly suggest that you are not pregnant and I am very sure and confident about this.

I will ask you to stay relaxed. Free up your mind and know that pregnancy is simply not a possibility at this time and it is not the case.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

About about an hour after I asked my question I felt a huge pain in my lower abdomen, it started from the left abdomen then seared with a sharp pain into the middle. Then I passed huge clots of blood. It seems now I'm bleeding less, thank goodness. The passing of clots isn't new to me, but the pain was! I do not usually feel cramping. This is different. Also before the passing of blood and clots, I felt a bulge in the left abdomen area and now it's gone...was this clotting? What the heck is this?

Brief Answer:
Please, get this bleeding checked out!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Am happy you are feeling a lot better but still concerned because you seem to bleed a lot. I will suggest that you follow up with your doctor and get this bleeding controlled. Bleeding in huge volumes over time has consequences. Do not allow yourself to develop complications from this.

Whenever there is a clot, you would feel pain because the uterus is contracting to expel and once it happens, you would feel relieved. Please, get this bleeding controlled.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Keep me updated as need arises.
