Question: Hello doctor 6 years ago I was diagnosed with cervical erosion and had cryotherapy and after that I took 3pap smear test for 3consecutive years which comes out to be normal... After that I had a child and it been 3 years after the last smear.... But from few months I am experiencing some odd symptoms like pain during sex.. Frequent yeast infection before periods..vaginal pain..burning urine.. no urine infection detected.. I Am 30 years old and I am sexually active from age 19 but only with my husband..
Should I have my pap again?and Is it possible to have cervical cancer after 3 negative Pap smear in just 3years?

Brief Answer:
Almost no chance of cervical cancer.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

As you are having 3 consecutive negative pap test, the chances of cervical cancer are very low in your case.
These symptoms could be due to fungal vaginitis which can be treated with the help of antibiotics and antifungal medicine.
You can go for repeat pap smear for the same.

Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.

For vaginal infection i am not having yellow or green discharge...but all other symptoms of infection...is it still possible I am having jus vaginal infection without the usual discharge

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal (15 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It could be a possibility of infection.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

There is a possibility of vaginal infection in your case though the vaginal discharge color does not change.
You should rule out the high sugar levels ( Diabetes Mellitus) in view of recurrent vaginal infection.
Bacterial Vaginosis is also a possibility in your case because it may occur due to imbalance between normal and pathogenic bacterial flora.
You should take multivitamin for the same.

Hope found useful.
Good luck.
