Are Increased Levels Of DHEA Indicative Of PCOS?

Question: Are these results indicative of PCOS?
Brief Answer:
Yes, increase DHEA level indicate PCOS.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us about it.
I have gone through your report and it is showing increased levels of DHEA (androgen hormone) and insulin level.
It suggests that you may be suffering from PCOS, but there are three things require to fulfil the criteria-
-Anovulation
-Poly Cysts in ultrasound
-Increase the androgen levels.
Thus if you are having other symptoms of PCOS, increase androgen level can be due to PCOS. (But your FSH and LH levels are normal).
Hope it is useful.
Good luck.

My vaginal ultrasound was normal & I am ovulating. Is it still PCOS?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it can still be PCOD.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for the long delay in my response.
I know that with your history there is only an increase in your androgen hormone level, but in your reports your testosterone levels are > 40, increase insulin level and LH level double the level of FSH.
Hence with these levels there is still a chance of PCOD.
Are you having obesity, hirsutism, facial hair growth, irregular menstrual cycle and other symptoms of PCOD or not?
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Good luck.
Regards
