Are Itchy Blisters In The Vaginal Area Post Intercourse Indicative Of Herpes?

Question: Hello, I had sex with a male who says he was tested a couple months before. Although I believe him a couple weeks later I had vaginal itching and thought is was just an itch. Then I noticed it burning after I shaved and itched. I had bumps, I think from itching, milky watery discharge and irritation. I am on my 3rd dose of monistat 3 and it is better. No irritation and the bumps are going away. I have heard different things about whether monistat helps or hurts herpes. Can you help me?

Hi and welcome.
Well, first, I dont think this is herpes since blisters would occur already which are typical for HSV infection, also if there is improvement on Monistat then it means that it is more likely irritation, allergy or fungal infection. Monistat wont help nor harm if there is HSV infection so it can be safely used. If there will be blisters or new bumps then STD tests should be done, otherwise, I dont thik this is required. Wish you good health. Regards

Hello, and thank you. This is my first infection and I went to the worse scenario. I talked to my coworder who has had yeast infections. So I went and got monistat and it helped. The day before my treatment it hurt to walk and now it is just a little raw but not sore. The bumps are getting better, they pop and bleed a little then they heal up. I am thinking this will go away because the meds are in my system. How long do you think it will take? And if it doesn't go away should I go to an OBGYN? I have an appointment for next Tuesday, should I go to make sure everything is okay? Or am I fine?

I thought I might have a hsv infection. But I saw monistat can hurt or do nothing to stds. It might take a couple days to clear up 100% because it was super bad. If it doesn't clear up or come back should I go get checked? I just don't want to find out it is something more serious than yeast infection. Thanks in advance

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It would be easier for me if I see photo if this rash but considering description,I don't think this is herpes or other STD. You can see gyn for mind ease but it will be fine,it may take 5-7 days to clear up completely. Regards

I am not sure how to add a photo. The rash use to be all over and now it is just on the skin by the vagina flaps. It stopped itching but still is red and have some bumps. It also is still a little inflamed. I thought it could be genital herpes or something else. I am just scared that due to it not clearing up 100% that it isn't a yeast infection. Also this is my first time ever having an issue. Thank for your input. I will more than likely see how it is because it is more than likley a yeast infection. So you are more than sure thinking it is just a yeast infection and not a std? Thanks for the reply. If you find out how to send pictures I can work on getting you one.

Brief Answer:
Not std

Detailed Answer:
Yes,this is definitely not STD and this may be just yeast infection or reaction to shaving. I don't think you should worry at all,it will be fine.
