Question : Hi Doctor,
I am 26 year old born with a single ventricle and had PA banding at the age of 3 and no other surgeries thereafter. I have lived symptom free so far and with good exercise tolerance. I have my regular checkups and in the recent checkup in July, my doctor confirmed that my heart is perfectly fine and may not have any symptoms until the age of 40-50 years.
However, from yesterday I have been experiencing strange weakness in my legs (sometimes arms) and having shivering usually in the evenings or nights and I start to panic a lot. I have checked my BP and is around 115/75. I ride bike to and fro to office and have been having back ache because of this. Even yesterday once I reached home, I all of a sudden started to feel very weak and mild tingling sensation in my feet and arms. When I start to panic about this, I feel my heart beat rapidly. I do not have any other symptoms though.
What could be the reason and is this anything serious?

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

After going through the medical details provide by you i would like to tell you that the symptoms which you have mentioned here doesn't correlate to cardiac issues as such and also just a month back your doctor confirmed all your cardiac tests to be normal. So there is nothing to worry from the cardiac point of view, just relax.

Your bp is slightly towards the lower side and your symptoms are more suggestive of lack of proper diet and also it can be due to job related stress and back ache due to daily bike riding.

In my opinion there is nothing serious and dont panic yourself as more you take stress the more your heart rate will rise and will cause unpleasant sensation.

Just relax, take a break from your job, relax and improve your diet in a healthy way and things will definitely improve.

I wish you good health.
