Question : Should I take magnesium supplement for ectopic heart beats. Ian on ramipril 2.5mg no 128/82. I suffer from anxiety?

                                    Brief Answer:
Check magnesium levels then take it.
Detailed Answer:
hello,
Magnesium will be helpful only if your magnesium level is low, so get magnesium, calcium, potassium tested.
Also, I guess you don't smoke or do any stimulant drugs, if yes avoid it, any sleep related problems like snoring, interrupted sleep, daytime sleepiness etc. ? Get thyroid test done as well.
Along with ramipril you should be started on beta blockers like metoprolol xr which will stop your ectopic and also help in anxiety. You can also get one psychiatry consult done for anxiety or get prescribed drug like nexito bedtime etc. Try relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, Deep breathing exercises.

Failed to mention was told I had a heart attack after ecg in 2012. I had MRI and angiogram that proved ecg to be false positive, Cardiologist said I had no signs of any heart disease. I was on standard post heart attack drugs (bisoporol statin and aspirin) but taken off after results, this I think left me with anxiety. Heart rate at rest constant 60. XXXXXXX doctor said try chewing moringa seed have you heard of this?

                                    Brief Answer:
Can take it, but few sideeffects.
Detailed Answer:
Moringa is said to have multiple beneficial effects like source of multiple vitamin, amino acid. It also have blood thinning effect which is beneficial for heart attack patient. But it can cause gastritis and excessive bleeding if one is having bleeding. In nutshell, you can have it intermittently but there may not be significant benefits of regular consumption in you. This is also used by many as food for meals.
Pulse rate you mentioned is on lower side, do you do heavy exercises, if yes it can explain low heart rate. Otherwise low thyroid hormone level may lead to bradycardia. I guess you are not taking nebivolol now, it can also cause bradycardia.

                                    Brief Answer:
Heavy activities explain lower heart rate.
Detailed Answer:
Yes your heavy cardio exercises will make your heart strong and stronger pumping of blood with each heart beat and decrease the need the number of beats per min leading to lower heart rate.
Overall, not a matter of worry, ectopics in normal heart like you are considered benign and needs no intervention except beta blockers like nebivolol if very much symptomatic.
