Are Nausea, Headaches And Vomiting Side Effects Of Plan-B?

Posted on Mon, 26 Sep 2016
Question: My girlfriend got off her period last friday, we had unprotected sex the following monday night, tuesday night and wednesday night. Every time i "pulled-out" knowing that is not a safe prevention method, and then wednesday night right after sex i bought plan-B. She claims shes not ovulating yet, or shouldnt be. But i bought the pill anyway to try and ease my own mind. She says she was feeling ill most of the day thursday and got worried herself. And took a pregnancy test that night coming up negative i told her that i have heard the plan-B pill can make women feel this way. But im no expert. Im looking for a professional opinion as to this situation.

Brief Answer:
These are common side effects of I-pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Taking plan B pill is associated with side effects like nausea, headache, vomiting, etc. But it is right now too early to get a positive test even if she is pregnant. You need to wait for at least 10 days after the last sex session to test the urine.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

When are women most likely to get pregnant? Or how does the cycle actually work?

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (52 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
During fertile days.

Detailed Answer:
The women are most likely to become pregnant during the fertile days- Day 12 to day 18 of a regular 28 day cycle. However it is difficult to predict the exact date o ovulation. So it is better to use a regular contraceptive like oral pills to be sure.
