Question: Hello Dr
I have spoken to you a few days ago about my hiv situation. I have got my results 18 days after exposure pcr XXXXXXX test 10 days after exposure and it was negative and i have tested also on day 18 a dna pcr test and it was negative , i have also tested instant hiv p24 and antibody on day 28 and it was negative do you think i should do any more test or the results are conclusive as the nurse told me if you have picked up anything it would who up in one of the three tests. i am considering testing in week 6 and stop testing. Could you kindly give me your opinion.

Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
It is good that HIV DNA PCR, antigen and antibodies tests have come negative. The DNA PCR test, duo test are highly sensitive after 2 and 3 weeks exposure respectively. It is 95- 99% sensitive. So you are unlikely to have HIV. There is no need for any test for now
It is better to go for final conclusive test after 3 months.
You can get back for any clarification.
