Are Negative HIV Tests After 7 Weeks Of Exposure Conclusive?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jul 2015
Question: I had sex with a professional sex worker may 3rd, 2015 . I used condom for sex. But actually I used my tongue to suck her boobs and lick the upper part of vagina. But I didn't have any precum of her in my mouth and neither blood contact has happened. I have gone through HIV screening test and VDRL and everything came out negative. I have carried out the following test at the 7 weeks and the result has came out. Are these result reliable and can I be confirmed that I am having no STD or HIV related disease in my body

Brief Answer:
Negative for std

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

You have confirmed the Hiv test with pcr which is highly sensitive and specific. You will not require any further testing for Hiv. However to be very sure I would want you to get a Hiv test through ELISA method after 3 months.

No further tests are required to rule out sexually transmitted diseases

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Is there a requirement for any of the other STD test like Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Herpes 1 & Herpes 2, HIV, Syphilis to be done again at 3 months period or I can rely on the test report which has come.

Brief Answer:
Sexually transmitted disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my reply. It is a very busy day at the hospital since its the starting of the week.

There is a requirement to get Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C done. Please get it done on your next visit to the doctor

Do not get any other tests done unless you have sypmtoms. Gonorrhea, Chlamydia Hepatitis A and herpes all present with fever and typical symptoms which you do not have. There is no point getting tests done when one is sure of not having it.

I am not having any symptoms as of now but I want to make sure that I am not having any of the STD in my body because of the reason that I am getting engaged with someone. So can you recommend me any test which can confirm that I am not having Gonorrhea, Chlamydia Hepatitis A and herpes. And I will get the test done for Hepatitis B and C within a week. Some of the symptoms I am having:

1) Burning sensation on my tongue.
2) Dry throat and a very small pain sensation while swallowing.
3) There was a bulge in my penis which seem to have gone off after I have visited a dermatologist and he has prescribed some ointment and tablets.
4) Other than that I am experiencing weakness (That can happen due to hot weather also?)
