Are Night Terrors And Strong Pulsations Indicative Of A Sign Of Epilepsy In A Child?

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Jul 2022
Question: My 6 year old boy has been having what we thought were night terrors, but tonight while actually cradling his head I felt strong (electrical?) pulsations that I'm wondering might be epileptic. He woke after a minute or two, and seems to have gone back to sleep comfortably. What should I do in follow-up to this incident?

Brief Answer:
Epilepsy does not have any electric sensation to the examining person

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Epilepsy does not have any electric sensation to the examining person like this.
As his activity and interaction with you is otherwise normal - there is no need for you worry as of now.
But if there is any up rolling or eye balls / excessive sleepiness / high grade fever / incessant vomiting / altered sensorium or behavior then you take him to the nearest emergency room.
