Question : Earlier this evening I was having a lot of pain in my lower back and upper GI region almost like serious acid reflux. I took some Pepto Bismol thinking it was indigestion although I rarely experience this. I eat rather well. The symptoms seem to subside but started again. I had gone to bed and now I am having a case of the shakes. Can you tell me if this is something that needs medical attention or is some sort of intestinal bug. I do not have diarrhea, I am not constipated, and I am not nauseous.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern, acid reflux wit back pain resolved with some pepto and followed by some shaking chills with no history or current complaint of fever, diarrhea or constipation is nothing to worry about. Just wait and see, if you get fever then get tested. Till then supportive care, soft diet, plenty of fluids, fibrous diet, use of small frequent meals, avoiding spices, alcohol, dairy products, coffee, tea etc and see if it helps. You may take some tylenol and benadryl for the shakes.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
